This past weekend, your #1Pierce Volleyball Team (15-0) hosted the Sixth Invitational Pierce Tournament and went undefeated on the weekend and won its third tournament in a row . The Brahmas beat #17San Diego Mesa College in the finals (3-0). On the match, the Brahmas outhit the Rustlers 39 to 18 kills and prevailed winners behind great performances from Shari Volpis (11kills), Zaire Dartis (12 kills), and a team high 4 aces by Rachel Lods and scored a 6 point run in the 3rd game to tie the game at 20 a piece after trailing 14-19. The Brahmas won the 3rd game 25-22. Chelsea Lawrence continues her dominance at the net and leads the state in the category of hitting percentage (0.419).
In the semis, it was another shown down between two storied programs: #1Pierce vs. #21Bakersfield. The Brahmas outhit the Renegades with 45 to 30 kills for Bakersfield. Zaire Dartis continues to attack the ball well collecting 10 kills on the night. Sophomore middle, Leanna Schott had her best performance of the season hitting 0.400 to go with 3 blocks. Team captain, Rachel Lods delivered 37 assists on the night
This past Wednesday, the Brahmas hosted the Corsairs of Santa Monica College and the Brahmas defeated the Corsairs in three straight games (25-21, 25-18, 25-13). The Brahmas outhit SMC 41 kills to only 21 kills and won the battle at the net and behind the service line. Freshman outside, Shari Volpis, continues to impress by collecting 10 kills and only 2 errors.

Currently, the team is ranked No. 1 in the State of California according to the latest 2015 California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association Rankings.
ABOUT MOORPARK COLLEGE
Moorpark College enters the match with a 4-6 record having defeated the Owls of Citrus College on Wednesday night. Two freshmen outside hitters, Cindy Norris (#16) and Meghan Conlan (#15), are leading a young Raiders squad in kills and hitting attempts. Sophomore Libero, Sierra Joyner, is leading their team in digs.
